Ben Young is a famous sculptor working with glass sculptures. His new collection of layered glass wave sculptures has just been unveiled. All the examples have concrete bases and create a cross-section view of the ocean waves.
His creations look both realistic and abstract. All his works are done by hand with the initial sketches drawn on paper. His new exhibits depict oceanic waves in the harbor with a lonely ship floating, a metal light-house with wonderful waves on the point of splashing (a very fragile work), the only palm-tree on the uninhabited island surrounded by layered waves, a house on the rock somewhere in the middle of other stone hills, which grow from the water depth and an abstract composition showing the mountains rising up from the sea.
The colors of all the pieces of art are a wonderful combination of greyish concrete and bluish glass. Each piece is a representation of the nature, which surrounded Ben Young in his childhood spent in New Zealand and all this beauty is gorgeously noticeable in all his sculptures.
